Landscaping Mentor / Trainer
Boardwalk
Boardwalk is a leading owner and operator of multi-family residential communities.
Mentor/trainer to onboard and coach new landscape associates
Conduct landscape shed and equipment inspections, providing feedback to leader and landscape coordinator
Follow-up with new Associates on a weekly basis
Assist with coverage as needed
Provide Leader with updates regarding the necessity of additional training or recertification
Make recommendations to leader on equipment type and placement as needed
Oversee landscape shared equipment, updating spreadsheet, delivering equipment as required and monitoring need/ utilization as well as looking for other items that would be beneficial (and cost effective)
Conduct hands-on training with all new Associates, following mentorship training guides
Assist lead landscapers with interviews
Provide feedback to Leader on new Associate training
Meet with all new Associates on their first day of work
Conduct all technical and equipment related training with new associates, both Dayforce and on site practical
Ongoing review and implementation of improvements to mentorship program
Provide ongoing feedback to Associates during training including face to face and written testing
Develop training guides or procedure manuals per Leader / Human Resources requests
Continue to be available as a resource to new Associates after training is complete
Liaise and participate with Human Resources / Leaders regarding the effectiveness of mentorship program
Participate in additional formal training

Boardwalk Experience in necessary positions

Experience dealing with day-to-day business operations
Ability to work independently and with other Associates in a team environment
Familiarity with computer tablets, and ability to train on use, is an asset
Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload, and the workloads of others
Willing to travel
Ability to create trust and build lasting business relationships
Strong knowledge of Boardwalk applications – BPMS, BPMS Mobile, and BOSS
Post Secondary Education preferred
Able to troubleshoot site/equipment technical issues
Exceptional organizational, interpersonal and time-management skills
Must have vehicle and clean driving record
Strong knowledge of tools, parts, equipment types and maintenance/ operation
