  • Work with Subsurface research analysts, and the Upstream product function, to ensure seamless connectivity (e.g. across basins, plays, prospects, wells and field reservoirs) of our Subsurface dataset
  • Ensure the that our Subsurface dataset is analytics ready for customers. Collaborate with our Upstream regional research teams to affect a cultural shift in Subsurface data accountability
  • Build and develop a strong relationship network with our customers. Engage to understand their use cases, workflows, pain points and data needs in support of the continuous improvement of our offer
  • Work with the Upstream data function, Subsurface research analysts and the regional Upstream research teams, to ensure delivery of the Subsurface data expansion plan, including meeting agreed data coverage, completeness, integrity and timing OKRs – warranting that all options to deliver the plan have been explored / utilised
  • Support the delivery of our Subsurface Value Creation Plan roadmap through deep participation in, and collaboration across, the associated workstreams
  • Help to build organisational capability within the data function through teaching, coaching and advising less experienced staff in support of Subsurface data excellence
  • Support the Subsurface team’s vision and agenda and be a positive advocate for Wood Mackenzie’s brand

  • Demonstrable data analytical skills and experience of working with databases.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the utilisation of AI across the Upstream Subsurface space.
  • Demonstrable curiosity with a track record of impactful innovation.
  • A track record in demonstrating differentiated values and behaviours with a particular focus on teamwork and collaboration.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Minimum of a BSc in a Geoscience discipline; a data science qualification would be an advantage.
  • Experience in external relationship building and management.
  • 5-10 years of Subsurface experience within the Upstream sector with a strong understanding of the petroleum geology of the EMEA region and deep exposure to common Subsurface use cases, workflows and data usage.
  • We are a hybrid working company and the successful applicant will be required to be physically present in the office at least 2 days per week to foster and contribute to a collaborative environment. Full-time remote working is not an option for this role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
