The Senior Signal Engineer will lead mid‑ to large‑size projects, collaborate across disciplines, and ensure technical quality while managing budgets and schedules.
- Develop control lines, route and aspect charts.
- Create and review design plans and technical specifications.
- Coordinate project designs with other disciplines and attend project meetings.
- Review shop drawings, record changes, and communicate with suppliers, contractors, and client representatives.
- Prepare construction estimates and engineering budgets.

AECOM is actively seeking a Senior Signal Engineer for its World Class Rail Team in the New York Metro Region. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing and implementing train control systems such as CBTC, PTC, ATS, ATP, ATO, SSI, cab signaling, digital track circuits, and conventional block signaling.
Candidates must hold a BA/BS in Electrical Engineering (or related field) with at least eight years of experience designing train control systems; a Professional Engineering license and twelve years of experience are preferred.
- Program vital and non‑vital processors.
- BA/BS in Electrical Engineering (or related) with 8+ years of relevant experience.
- 8+ years designing train control systems (CBTC, PTC, ATS, etc.).
- Professional Engineering license in NY or NJ (preferred).
- 12+ years designing, constructing, testing, and commissioning train control systems.
- Experience with commuter rail, subway, freight, light rail, or streetcar systems.
