Senior Estimator

Description

• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for residential projects, including labour, materials, and overheads.
• Monitor project budgets and financial performance, identifying and addressing cost variances and potential risks.
• Work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure estimates align with project requirements and design intent.
• Provide regular updates and detailed reports on estimating activities, project status, and financial forecasts to senior management.
• Successfully tendered, won and completed projects over $50 million
• Help mentor and lead junior staff members, especially within the estimating team
• Stay informed about industry trends, material costs, and construction methods to provide accurate and up-to-date estimates.
• Work on high-profile projects in the Commercial and Residential sectors
• Analyse and evaluate bid proposals from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with project specifications.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of residential construction processes, materials, and cost drivers.
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Meticulous approach to estimating and cost control, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience as an estimator in high rise residential or commercial construction, with a proven track record of successful project wins and completions.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with proficiency in estimating software and tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
