Performs daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly sampling of all aspects of the wastewater utility systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Maintains emergency preparedness binders and field operating manuals
Collects samples and performs routine laboratory tests and analyses, interpreting test results to determine processing requirements
Operates, inspects and services equipment in water and wastewater, including hydraulics, pumps, valves etc
Controls flow and processing of water/wastewater, residuals, and finished water/effluent, operating valves and gates either manually or by remote control
Performs related security, safety and administrative procedures involving chemical hazards, personal protective equipment, general health and safety procedures, and emergency preparedness
Maintains shift logs, recoding meter and gauge readings
Starts and stops pumps, engines and generators to control and adjust flow and treatment processes
Monitors gauges, meters and control panels and observes variations in operating conditions
Ensures plant records are accurate and up to date
Undertakes routine repairs to water distribution and wastewater treatment and collection systems

Certified Water/Wastewater Operator Level 1 or Level 2; may be in the process of obtaining second-level license.
Valid driver’s license; must be able to provide driver's abstract.
