Description

The Designer is a creative and detail-oriented professional who ensures the company’s aesthetic standards are consistently upheld throughout the design process of projects. The Designer will be responsible for conducting in-depth site surveys, developing space plans, and translating initial design concepts into curated environments that align with project objectives. Key tasks include selecting furniture, art, and decor, as well as sourcing materials and collaborating with internal teams, including warehouse and installation, to bring designs to life. The Designer will also maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution and deliver high-quality results.

• Shop online and in person for items to be used in the design of projects
• Attend weekly design meetings with design team members
• Conduct in-depth site surveys of Active Projects to record the necessary conditions for executing a full design concept, with assistance from Junior Designers as needed
• Compile all design documentation in a concise design concept for each project
• Manage project timelines and make any necessary updates and/or changes in order to stay on assigned timeline under the direction of the Senior Director of Projects
• Oversee internal company painters for any custom commissioned paintwork, either on canvas, or in situ (murals, etc.)
• Respond to and execute external feedback as provided by Clients
• Travel to and from project sites as needed
• Oversee the day-to-day installation of projects and collaborate with the company’s Warehouse and Installation teams for receivables / deliveries
• Create and manage the digital drawing set for all space planning purposes
• Oversee installation styling and general moving activities as needed
• Respond to and execute internal feedback as provided by the Senior Designers, Director of Design, and/or Senior Director of Projects
• Manage the production of furniture, art, and accessory plans based on guidelines set by the Director of Design
• Select proposed pieces either from the company’s warehouse, or via new purchases, for furniture, art, and accessory selection for Senior Designer review and approval, subject also to Director of Design and/or Senior Director of Project comments
• Day-to-day management of project budgets set by the Director of Design and tracked by the Senior Director of Projects

Requirements

• Professional - you uphold the highest industry standards confidently with both internal and external parties, and are comfortable representing the brand to an exclusive and successful clientele
• Utilize strong client presentation skills to effectively communicate design concepts and solutions
• Detail-oriented - you like keeping track of lots of details at once and are the type of person who notices when one small thing is missing or isn’t right
• Experienced with AutoCAD. Proficiency in Rhino and SketchUp preferred, but not required
• Proficiently navigate the company’s software for inventory and project management
• Natural communicator – you are the type of person who almost automatically keeps the people you work with in the loop. Your nature is to over communicate and provide summaries of conversations and decisions.
• Problem solver – you think fast, are adaptable and are bent toward solving problems as they arise
• 3+ years of Interior design or architecture experience, including high end residential or commercial
• Faculties and working knowledge of an Architectural and/or Interior Design professional practice
• Proficient in Adobe Creative suite, Pages, and Microsoft Office
• Creative - you consistently generate new ideas and seek out inspiration in your professional and personal life. You revel in thinking outside of the box and bringing abstract concepts into reality.
• B.A. in Interior Design, Architecture, or similar field preferred
