Client Leader, K-12 Education

Description

The Client Leader will drive business development, manage client relationships, and lead contract negotiations while educating clients about our design process. Working closely with the project manager, the role ensures financial success, maintains consistent client contact throughout the project lifecycle, and fosters a collaborative, innovative environment to meet both client and DLR Group goals.

• Manage project execution to align with budget, schedule, and scope while meeting client expectations
• Collaborate with the Project Manager on staffing, responsibilities, and performance feedback for team members
• Track project milestones and deliverables, ensure quality standards, and prepare regular status reports
• Facilitate and document meetings with staff and clients, coordinating personnel, vendors, and consultants
• Participate in client contract negotiations, manage change requests, and approve project plan modifications
• Support business development by contributing to RFP responses and participating in client interviews
• Oversee project invoicing for accuracy and alignment with deliverables, and manage account receivables

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, or a related construction field (licensure preferred)
• Have at least 10 years of AEC experience, including 5 years in a client-facing role
• Possess a deep understanding of the K-12 education market in the DFW area
• Demonstrate strong business management knowledge, including strategic planning and resource allocation
• Know customer service principles such as needs assessment, quality standards, and satisfaction
• Expertise in design techniques and tools for technical plans, drawings, and models
• Familiarity with building methods, materials, and systems for construction and renovation projects
• Exhibit strong critical-thinking, time-management, and verbal/written communication skills
• Ability to actively listen, understand perspectives, and respond thoughtfully
