Supplier Management: Identify potential suppliers, conduct negotiations, and establish contracts for the procurement of goods and services. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable and cost-effective sources of supply.
Strategic Procurement Planning: Understand and contribute to the development of procurement registers and plans produced for each project and work to these.
Reporting: Maintain accurate and organized procurement records. Contribute to monthly reports on procurement activities.
Adherence to Policy and Process: Ensure adherence to procurement policies, procedures, and relevant regulations. Work to mitigate risks related to legal and ethical compliance within Sedgman’s procurement processes.
Contract Management: Develop and administer contracts of allocated packages, ensuring that terms and conditions are met and that Sedgman’s interests are protected.
Sourcing/Tendering: Manage the tendering process, including the preparation and evaluation of tenders or bids for a number of procurement packages and be proficient with the use of online e-tendering platforms.
Cost Management: Administer costs to allocated budgets. Strive to achieve cost-effectiveness while maintaining high-quality standards and meeting delivery timelines. This includes the use of Sedgman’s ERP for managing purchasing commitments (JDE).

Documentation transmission: Be proficient with centralised document management systems for collaboration and ensure communication with project team and suppliers are conducted through this system
An accounting background and knowledge of cost controls, cash flow is preferred
Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline preferred, or Tertiary qualification and experience in a related discipline
High proficiency in Microsoft Project, knowledge of ERP systems is required; knowledge of JD Edwards and Power BI is an asset
Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
Ability to effectively manage own time, priorities, and activities in a dynamic environment.
High attention to detail and strong interpersonal and communication skills

Demonstrated understanding and ability in managing the complete procurement process, end to end, is required,.
Must have 5 – 8 years of relevant experience as a project Planner within in the Mining, Construction, and/or Oil & Gas industry
