Principal Safety Engineer

You'll join a multidisciplinary team of talented engineers and specialists working on cutting-edge safety and environmental systems. The work you do will directly influence the design, integration, and support of advanced technologies across major engineering programmes.

• Providing expert safety advice to project and engineering managers, ensuring that safety is embedded at every stage of design and delivery
• Leading and mentoring a team of safety practitioners to deliver excellence in safety engineering
• Reviewing and gathering Design Safety Justification (DSJ) evidence from third parties
• Developing robust safety arguments and documentation in line with recognised regulations and standards

Due to the nature of the projects, all applicants must be eligible for UK security clearance (typically requiring 5-10 years of continuous UK residency).

• Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant STEM discipline - Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Science
• Proven experience in safety engineering within defence, maritime, or other highly regulated industries
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong understanding of safety standards such as Def Stan 00-055/00-056, IEC 61508, or equivalents

Location: Frimley, Weymouth, Bristol, Portsmouth, or Plymouth Salary: Circa £60,000 (depending on experience) Flexible & Hybrid Working Available
