Senior Design Engineer

Description

• Lead problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct DFMEA, DFM/DFA, and risk assessments.
• Participate in client calls, technical discussions, and design reviews.
• Guide junior engineers in design best practices, CAD quality, and engineering methods.
• Ensure compliance with ASME, ISO, ANSI, DIN or customer-specific standards.
• Ensure designs meet functional, manufacturability, and reliability requirements.
• Develop conceptual and detailed mechanical designs for products, components, and assemblies.
• Perform FEA (as needed) or collaborate with analysis teams to validate designs (added knowledge with low priority)
• Coordinate with manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and supplier teams to support product industrialization.
• Prepare engineering documents, design reports, and specifications.
• Provide effort estimation, task planning, and adhere to project schedules.
• Create 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and BOMs.
• Work with onsite/global teams for requirement understanding, design review, and alignment.
• Support prototype development and testing.

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Design Engineer with 5–10 years of hands-on experience in Automotive, off highway vehicle, Industrial equipment, and HVAC, with a focus on new product development (NPD). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Mechanical Design & Development design, expertise in resolving issues raised by customer, and a strong background in HVAC mechanism development. This role is ideal for an engineer passionate about delivering high-performance HVAC systems from concept through production.

Technical Skills

• Project Execution in Offshore Model
• Experience with tolerance analysis and engineering calculations.
• Experience in value engineering, cost optimization, and VA/VE projects.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced offshore development environment.
• Knowledge of GD&T consulting, model-based definition (MBD), or PMI.
• Exposure to automation / macros in CAD (Creo Toolkit, SolidWorks API).
• 5–10 years of experience in mechanical design and product development involving Automotive, off highway vehicle, Industrial equipment and HVAC, systems.
• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Solid understanding of Engine / transmission / HVAC
• DFM/DFA, GD&T).
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a cross-functional environment.
• Strong in 3D modelling, complex assemblies, advanced surfacing, and drawing
• Mechanical design expertise with strong fundamentals (mechanisms, materials,
• Understanding of electro-mechanical components or mechatronics.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes: machining, casting, plastics, sheet metal, etc.
• Proficient in 3D CAD and 2D detailing, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and ownership mindset.
• Familiar with HVAC system standards and validation practices.
• Experience with PLM systems: Windchill, Teamcenter, Enovia.
• Knowledge of design standards (ASME Y14.5, ISO, customer standards).
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with global clients.
• Added experience with simulation and analysis tools such as ANSYS, Romax, MASTA, or equivalent.
• Basic or intermediate FEA (ANSYS, Abaqus), CFD, or design validation experience.
• Proficiency in at least one major CAD tool: Creo, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, CATIA, or Inventor.
