Keep up-to-date in technical knowledge of current and emerging practices for drafting.
Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work, including other technicians with specializations in: geotechnical, electrical, mechanical, coastal, fire protection, and architectural drafting.
Work collaboratively with the engineer-in-charge and other technical professionals on assignments for phased design submittals.
Support accurate and concise design phase deliverables including: reports, civil and structural plans, models, sections, details, and material lists.
Generate CADD drawings, sketches and renderings, on assigned projects, of various scale and/or complexity.
Aid staff engineers on various technical design tasks, including geometric dimensioning and tolerance and quantity calculations, while ensuring designs meet required standard specifications.
Use CADD, and/or similar software, to resolve design details or discrepancies, in close partnership with staff engineers.
Collect and compile data from various sources including: site surveys, historical documents, technical drawings, rough sketches, verbal and or written instructions, and other data matrices to support drafting and design activities.
Assure deliverables adhere to city code, state and federal regulations.
Maintain track record of upholding workplace safety and the ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
Experience with drafting for ports and marine structures (including rehabilitation and new design)
High School Diploma.
Competent self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
Experience with AutoDesk ReCap or Autoturn
Ability to make technical computations and calculations involving the application of geometry and mathematical concepts, understanding plans and specifications, and making factual comparisons to the appropriate standards or regulations.
Capable critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from data collation, calculations, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective and logical solution.
Show ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
Experience with REVIT. Ability to generate drawings, sketches and renderings, on assigned projects, of various scale and/or complexity.
Minimum of 9 years of relevant post education experience in discipline with prior drafting and design support experience.
Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
Experience with MicroStation
Capable interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non-technical audience.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Experience with OpenRoads
Proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles, spreadsheets, and tools.
Analytical mindset to exercise sound judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions.
Knowledge of drafting and design support principles, practices, process, methods and techniques.
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
Associate’s Degree, or other industry certification, in closely related fields.
