The Mobile Compactor Repair Technician works under the guidance of a Compactor Shop Technician A, a Lead Compactor Shop Technician Supervisor, or a Manager. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, designing, installing, and repairing all compactors and power units while adhering to the company’s safety procedures.
Key duties include replacing hydraulic cylinders, fabricating replacement hoses and fittings, and welding steel components using MIG and arc equipment. The technician also cuts steel with a plasma cutter or torch, fabricates steel parts for compactors, and performs on‑site repairs at customer locations. Additional responsibilities are following all safety policies, completing required paperwork, installing company and safety decals, and referring complex repairs to higher‑level technicians.
Preferred candidates demonstrate proficiency in welding, hydraulics, or electronics and can operate mig & stick welders, plasma cutters, and airless paint sprayers. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to follow directions with minimal supervision are required. At least two years of experience with hydraulic pumps and hoses is preferred.
A valid driver’s license is mandatory. The position offers a pay range of $29.15 to $40.10 per hour, which varies by locality and reflects applicable minimum wage rates.
