Maintain an up-to-date resource for metering and connection information.
Ensure project risks are understood, reviewed regularly and escalated to the Energy Manager as appropriate.
Drive continuous improvement to proactively identify & remove waste from team processes & activities.
To facilitate the roll out of our new energy strategy, the Energy Metering Specialist will develop solutions to serve both future business needs and incorporate the pressures of changing industry regulation and the demands of our expanding portfolio of renewable assets.
Project manage the delivery of long-term metering programmes such as AMR Rollout, Settlement, RTS compliance and MHHS.
Manage the health and safety of metering contractors on YW sites.
Partner with the Commercial Energy & Non-reg team to facilitate metering requirements for the renewable asset delivery programme.
Work with industry third parties such as our Broker, Energy Supplier, Meter Operator and DNO to improve the quality of our metering service.
Utilising an understanding of energy industry regulation and practice, you will work with internal teams and industry third parties to project manage a number of programmes relating to industry metering requirements and the delivery of our exciting site renewables programme. You will manage project risks, timing, cost and quality in line with business targets, whilst ensuring health and safety, regulatory, and statutory compliance is achieved.
Responsible for day to day meter management and site investigations, resolving queries related to legal ownership, COTs, objections, additions, disposals, meter reads, faults, data provision.
You will take a lead on improving the provision of metering services by being the single point of contact on all aspects of meter management, related projects and queries from the business.
Work with the Contract Specialist to ensure quality, accuracy and timeliness of energy data from our MOP and DC/DA providers.
If successful for the role, you will be required to undergo pre-employment checks that will include a Basic Disclosure Check, carried out through a Third Party Company, prior to commencing employment. Depending on the role, you may also be required to go through the security vetting process for either a Counter Terrorist Check or Security Check clearance.
Energy Metering Specialist
Strong organisational skills, the ability to manage and organise heavy workloads, prioritising relevant business needs. Good attention to detail.
Excellent IT, data management and reporting skills, proficient user of all MS Office Applications.
Project management experience and experience of using project management tools.
Previous experience within the energy and utilities industry and experience of energy regulatory processes and working with energy suppliers, meter operators and DNO’s.

The role will involve travel to different sites across Yorkshire, therefore you will need a UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
Experience of meter management activities, industry standards, flows and MOP contracts.
Previous experience of working with Energy Brokers (TPI’s) would be an advantage.
