The Project Manager – Generation role at NiSource involves planning, organizing, and managing projects or task orders that support Generation assets, ensuring performance aligns with contractual agreements and company policies. The position is responsible for deliverable tracking, financial planning, and management reporting.
The incumbent will collaborate with Generation stakeholders, procurement, financial planning, and other internal and external teams to oversee the entire project life cycle, applying PMI methodologies and NIPSCO’s internal processes. Responsibilities include initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing projects while integrating quality, cost, schedule, communication, and risk management.
The role requires strong stakeholder engagement, including handling adverse or contentious parties, coordinating meetings, and producing regular reports for leadership. The manager will also interpret contract agreements, track construction progress, and work with other project managers to meet organizational needs while fostering an inclusive environment.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, project management, or a related field, have at least four years of experience managing construction or improvement projects, and demonstrate high proficiency with project management information systems and Microsoft Office tools. A PMP certification is required within one year, along with a valid motor vehicle operator license, and the ability to work independently on a flexible schedule.
Preferred qualifications include 1–3 years of utility or large‑scale industrial capital project experience.
