Prepare fee proposals for engineering design work.
Work with other disciplines to ensure accuracy of the package, meet schedule, and budget commitments and meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.
Provide conceptual / detailed design and analysis for facility power distribution (600V), site power distribution (15kV), emergency power generation, grounding and lightning protection, lighting design, telecommunications (voice/data), fire alarm / mass notification, security, access control, and special systems.
Provide supporting documentation such as calculations, reports, and specifications.
Meet with clients to prepare and/or validate proposed scope of work.
Design of electrical systems for facilities / laboratories for Government, University, and private clients.
Work in a design team environment, including directing and mentoring the work of junior engineers and designers, and delegating work as required as well as provide management of the local team.

Capable of performing all of the above with minimal direction
Proficient using Microsoft Office Excel & Word
Ability to complete tasks with accuracy and with strong attention to detail
Twelve (12) years of experience in facility Electrical Engineering design
Experience with technical codes such as NEC, NESC, NFPA, IEEE is required
Client requirements for this position require Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Resident status.
Ability to write and edit specifications
Experienced using REVIT/AutoCAD or other design software-based drawing generation
Experience with USDA, ARS, CDC and other laboratory clients is highly desired
Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
Ability to travel as needed.
This individual is expected to possess extensive knowledge on electrical regulatory codes.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely; both verbally and in writing
Experience using electrical calculation tools is desired, including lighting and power software such as AGi32, Elum Tools, SKM Power Tools, ETAP, and EasyPower.
Local candidates are preferred.
