Description

Overview: Technical Advisor, Composites – responsible for providing technical guidance, training, and support to composite technicians while ensuring compliance with customer requirements.

The role involves collaborating with resource managers, quality managers, engineering, and sales teams, managing training curricula, conducting site audits, and contributing to product strategy and candidate screening.

• Advise composite technicians on proper repair processes.
• Support resource managers with project timelines and technical assistance.
• Assist the Resource Manager with the Career Advocacy Program for composite technicians.
• Ensure day‑to‑day composite activities meet or exceed customer requirements.
• Identify optimal curriculum delivery methods (online, video, etc.).
• Lead and manage composite equipment in the training center.
• Develop and maintain in‑house composite training curricula and deliver training as needed.
• Assess student abilities and adapt training content accordingly.
• Create and update on‑the‑job (OJT) training curricula.
• Oversee OJT and development of field composite technicians.
• Collaborate with engineering, management, and field staff to integrate new products and solutions into training.
• Perform site audits to ensure safety, quality, and policy compliance.
• Procure materials and special tools to support project scopes.
• Provide hands‑on technical assistance in the field when required.
• Assist the Quality Manager with work instructions and blade reporting.
• Support sales efforts as a technical expert in the industry.
• Contribute to defining product strategy and roadmap.
• Conduct technical screening of candidate technicians.
• Deliver safety and platform training for field technicians.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years wind industry experience and 5 years composite production/repair experience.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask under pressure.
• Excellent customer service and English communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with up to 50% travel as needed.
• Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
