OSP Engineer - North Texas

Description

• Design and plan copper and fiber OSP facilities (aerial, buried, conduit) and prepare engineering drawings and calculations.
• Conduct field measurements and develop project budgets, monitor costs, and perform quality inspections.
• Prepare and submit permit packages to municipal, county, state, DNR, railroad, and pipeline agencies, ensuring compliance.
• Coordinate with municipal officials, utilities, and SSP contractors to manage relocations, make‑ready work, and timely project completion.
• Update and maintain engineering tools such as FROGS (CAD), Varasset, and SiteTracker.
• Support service orders, subdivision expansions, dark‑fiber MDUs, site surveys, PUC investigations, and resolve plant damage requests.
• Maintain engineering records, draft correspondence, and produce reports and documentation.

Requirements

The OSP Engineer role focuses on design, planning, and implementation of outside plant projects involving copper and fiber networks, requiring strong engineering, permitting, and construction coordination skills, as well as budget management and compliance with standards.

Candidates must reside within one hour of Plano, Carrollton, Garland, Sulphur Springs, or Greenville, TX, and be willing to travel locally for fieldwork and meetings, with mileage reimbursed.

• Possess 3–5+ years of copper/fiber network engineering experience and at least 5 years in OSP‑related work, including permitting and fiber record management.
• Demonstrated project management, organizational, and communication skills; proficiency with Frontier engineering tools.
• Willingness to travel locally for fieldwork; residency within one hour of designated Texas locations.
