- Data & Reporting: Analyse SHE data to identify trends, ensure compliance, and support continuous improvement through targeted action plans.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, local authorities, trade unions, and internal teams.
- SHEQ Leadership: Provide expert advice and guidance on safety, health, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) matters, including action plans, audits, risk assessments, and policy implementation.
- Promote a Safe Culture: Work proactively with managers and teams to ensure a safe environment for all, supporting our 100% Safe goal and Perfect Delivery standards.
- Training & Development: Identify training needs and deliver or coordinate effective SHE-related training for staff and management.
- Policy & Compliance: Support the development and consistent implementation of SHE policies, procedures, and legal compliance across projects and contracts.

- Detailed knowledge of current safety legislation and its application in construction or traditional civil engineering project based environment
- CMIOSH or NVQ level 4
- General Management qualification (desirable)
- Extensive knowledge of effective management strategies and best practice
- Environmental Management Systems Qualification (desirable)
- General NEBOSH Certificate
- Detailed knowledge of a wide range of safety, health and environmental current best practice and working effectively with managers and staff to achieve the most effective results
- NEBOSH diploma (desirable)
- Network Rail project experience (desirable)
- NEBOSH Fire Prevention and Risk Management Certificate (desirable)
- Appropriate CSCS card
