The role also manages traffic control and other pre‑construction requirements to ensure best practices are followed.
Key duties involve coordinating with vendors and suppliers to plan and schedule projects, verifying that all permits comply with local codes and state laws, and reviewing the bill of materials for completeness. The Expeditor leads problem resolution, escalates issues to management when needed, and provides input on long‑term action plans. Support is given to field crews, while adhering to purchasing, contract management, and safety policies, and maintaining accurate project records and final job packets for client handover.
Applicants must understand basic electrical concepts and possess strong computer, written, and oral communication skills. Required qualifications include a high school diploma, with an associate or bachelor degree preferred, and experience in the utility industry, specifically distribution line construction or services. Demonstrated analytical, problem‑solving, organizational, and time‑management abilities are essential.
The role requires self‑motivation, teamwork, customer orientation, and the ability to work independently while following all company safety rules. Competencies include reading electrical prints, managing multiple tasks, and providing leadership to team members.
Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, and the use of hands for handling tools, with regular exposure to noise, fumes, and outdoor weather conditions at construction sites. The position may involve occasional exposure to extreme environmental conditions.
