Community Engagement Specialist

Description

The Community Engagement Specialist (CES) is a key member of the Regional Development and Engagement team, focused on enhancing digital capability and infrastructure across regional Australia. The CES engages communities, stakeholders and local organisations to deliver programs, campaigns and events that support digital inclusion, emergency preparedness and regional development. They execute local strategies, provide insights to influence national initiatives, foster strong stakeholder relationships, support co‑investment awareness, drive service uptake and contribute to operational performance while promoting a safety‑first culture.

Requirements

The ideal candidate brings several years of experience in stakeholder and community engagement, preferably within regional, rural or remote communities. They possess strong presentation and communication skills, can simplify complex topics for diverse audiences and influence a wide range of stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a matrix environment, and a solid understanding of telecommunications developments are required, along with a valid Australian driver’s licence and a commitment to safety and organisational policies.

• Possess several years of experience in community and stakeholder engagement, preferably in regional or remote settings.
• Demonstrate strong presentation and communication skills, simplifying complex topics for diverse audiences.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of working autonomously and collaboratively in a matrix environment.
• Hold a valid Australian driver’s licence and be willing to travel throughout regional Victoria.
