Description

The Lead Custodian at Velociti Services directs a team of cleaners, ensuring that all work areas meet both company and client cleaning standards while promptly addressing client inquiries and specific requests. This role serves as the primary liaison between clients and cleaning staff, translating client needs into actionable tasks for the team.

Key responsibilities include supervising staff performance, coordinating schedules, managing inventory, and conducting regular worksite inspections to uphold health and safety policies. The supervisor also handles staff training, resolves disputes, and steps in for general cleaning duties as necessary.

• Supervise cleaning staff, monitor performance and behavior.
• Ensure work areas meet Velociti and client cleaning standards.
• Review schedules, manage inventory, order supplies and equipment.
• Conduct worksite inspections and enforce health & safety policies.
• Resolve staff disputes, discipline, reward, and train employees.
• Communicate client requests and respond to enquiries.
• Fill in for general cleaning when needed.
• Prioritize tasks, delegate effectively, and maintain documentation.

Requirements

Ideal candidates are experienced in cleaning operations and team management, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate strong organizational and leadership abilities. They must be detail‑oriented, able to process feedback professionally, and uphold integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Physical demands of the position require the ability to lift up to 60 pounds, bend, squat, climb several flights of stairs, and stand for extended periods, ensuring the supervisor can actively participate in cleaning activities. A high school diploma or higher, a valid driver’s license, and a clean motor vehicle record are also required.

• Must have prior cleaning and team‑management experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
