Business interface with DC Management for day-to-day operational requirements.
Perform daily checks of Mechanical Pumps, HVAC, BMS, VRV, VRF and life safety systems.
Maintain essential stock of spare parts.
Liaise with the Operations Management team, facilities, IT teams, and procurement to ensure that all projects progress smoothly, on schedule, and within budget.
Comply with all safety procedures and requirements.
Prepare and submit Monthly reports of conditions in buildings and recommend actions to be taken.
Responding promptly and efficiently to emergency calls.
Generate job cards & incident management tickets for the Data Center facility.
Work with DCO managers and other business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, sustainability, and efficiency.
Maintain, and operate all Mechanical-related systems and associated equipment, building management system.
Ensure best practices and global standards are in place for the data center.
Manage contracts related to data center infrastructure, liaise with legal on contracts, and work directly with contractors to ensure timely completion of all work.
Monitor and adjust cooling in the data center using DCIM and BMS to maintain optimal operating and environmental conditions.
The primary responsibility of the position is to manage (operationally) the data center's mechanical (cooling and Plumbing) infrastructure.
Support any after-hours building needs and activities as required.
Stay abreast of industry trends and new technologies related to cooling, monitoring systems, and floor layout.
Collect and analyze data on various computer systems, maintain historical records, and provide management with statistical analysis as requested.
The Data Center Mechanical Facility Engineer will be responsible for Data Center Mechanical Engineering Operations within a Data Center including risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management, and metric reporting. He is responsible for ensuring that all Mechanical, and Pump, Generator equipment within the data center is operating at peak efficiency. This involves both planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues. They are expected to be a singular focal point for all Mechanical-related facility operations within a given data center. Data center equipment that supports mission-critical servers must maintain better than 99.999% uptime. This equipment includes but is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators, Secondary Pumps, Irrigation pumps, and building automation systems.
Using industry best practices ensures proper cooling analysis such as CFD analysis.
Review DC contract compliance & ensure all SLAs are achieved.
Assist in recruiting efforts.
Hold primary responsibility for the maintenance of data center mechanical equipment from HVAC to complex piping and plumbing works.
Good knowledge of Mechanical systems like (Pumps, Chillers, Hydrant pump System, Irrigation pump Systems)
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Excels with ambiguous situations as a chance to show leadership.
Working knowledge of Generators, Chillers, Pumps
Strong attention to detail.
Basic knowledge of cooling systems (LV and ELV Systems)
Ability to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environments.
3+ year Total Experience in MEP Construction field or Facility Management field
1–5-year Experience in Data Center Facilities Management Field.
Good problem-solving skills and ability to meet demanding time constraints.
Degree or Technical Degree and Critical facility experience.
Familiarity with datacenter guidelines and standards especially Tier III design standards and ASME/ASHRAE/NFPA.
Delivery of exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to handle rotation Shifts every month.
Ability to collaborate with project team to establish new infrastructure equipment standards and operational methods for all the data centers and to ensure that existing standards are implemented.
