Key duties include preparing and overseeing compliance documents covering topics such as aesthetics, noise, hazardous materials, air quality, GHG emissions, traffic, socioeconomics, land use, water resources, and geology. The specialist provides planning guidance, supports impact analysis, coordinates biological and cultural assessments, and produces technical letters, memoranda, and reports while ensuring QA/QC of data and regulatory compliance.
Collaboration is central to the role, involving work with in‑house biologists, archaeologists, external specialists, sub‑consultants, clients, and regulatory agencies throughout the project lifecycle. The specialist also assists Project Managers with budget and schedule tracking, participates in continuous‑improvement programs, and stays current on industry trends through training and professional development.
The Assistant Project Manager, CEQA/NEPA Specialist role can be performed remotely but requires a candidate based in Southern or Central California with California‑specific environmental expertise. The position focuses on completing environmental reviews for projects governed by the California Environmental Quality Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, and various Native American policy frameworks.
