GMP Custodian

Description

The GMP Custodian – Janitorial Specialist role supports a pharmaceutical‑grade corporation by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and regulatory compliance. This full‑time, non‑exempt, union‑backed position may require weekends, holidays, and overtime, with a primary work schedule of Monday to Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, plus alternating weekends.

In this role you will follow established cleaning practices, SOPs, and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) to keep non‑classified areas clean, healthy, and ready for operation. You will also handle special projects, manage supply storage, and report any safety or maintenance issues.

• Perform cleaning services per SOPs in non‑classified GMP areas, including mopping, vacuuming, dusting, deep cleaning, disinfecting, and waste disposal.
• Complete deep cleans, office restoration, and special projects as assigned by Janitorial Supervisor or JLL/FS managers.
• Verify correct chemicals are used for each area and maintain organized janitor closets, supply storage, and equipment.
• Report deficiencies, safety concerns, and repair needs to the Janitorial Supervisor.
• Assist with employee uniforms and perform any other duties assigned.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent, be familiar with cGMP and SOP adherence, and possess strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills. Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and operate cleaning equipment throughout the shift is required, and fluency in English is necessary.

Prior experience cleaning in a GMP‑controlled environment or in regulated industries such as labs, biotech, or pharmaceuticals is preferred, along with knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

• Knowledge of cleaning practices, strong attention to detail, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Effective communication, teamwork skills, and flexibility to work weekends, holidays, shutdowns, and overtime.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and operate cleaning equipment throughout the shift.
• English reading and writing proficiency.
• Experience cleaning in a GMP‑controlled environment.
• Prior janitorial or custodial work in regulated industries such as labs, biotech, or pharmaceuticals.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
