The Security Architect role offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement and focuses on addressing the rapidly evolving cyber threat landscape. As part of the Security Engineering and Architecture department, the architect develops security strategies and roadmaps, partners with enterprise and application architecture teams, and embeds security into systems by collaborating with development and technology groups. Key initiatives include integrating cloud‑based services, implementing zero‑trust principles, managing big data, and leveraging AI/ML to solve complex business problems.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and have at least five years of IT experience, including two years in security engineering or architecture and experience with multiple domains such as networks, operating systems, DevSecOps, or applications. Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills are essential, as is familiarity with NERC CIP standards and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. Preferred qualifications include an MBA, PJM‑specific experience, and certifications such as CISA, CISSP, and CISM, along with expertise in cloud security, zero‑trust, and AI/ML governance.
PJM Interconnection manages the high-voltage electric system that provides power to 67 million people in all or parts of 13 states and the District of Columbia.
