The Nuclear Duty Officer (NDO) serves as the designated representative of nuclear management, notifying senior leadership of operational events at clean energy centers (CECs). The NDO coordinates across corporate groups to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations, works with the Generation Portfolio Operations Team to optimize efficiency, and acts as a corporate expert on plant‑operation regulations.
Key duties include establishing and enforcing consistent operations procedures and policies, identifying and implementing best‑practice operations solutions from the fleet and industry, and periodically assessing compliance with standards. The NDO must maintain travel flexibility (10‑50 % of time), respond to emergencies, provide departmental coverage, and support outage activities outside the department.
Candidates must hold or have held an NRC Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license, have at least seven years of nuclear power‑plant experience, and three years of supervisory or managerial experience in operations. They must also meet access‑requirement standards and pass any required medical examinations.
