Food and Beverage Attendant

Description

• Provide exceptional customer service, including bar service, POS operation, meal ordering, and general cleaning.
• Assist with customer complaints and resolutions.
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain equipment, furniture, and premises, reporting necessary repairs.
• Support and implement Ventia’s Food Safety Program, including hazard identification, control measures, and incident recording.
• Wash crockery, cutlery, glassware, and cooking utensils as required.
• Assist with basic food preparation and cooking duties.
• Maintain and update Mess signage and notice boards.
• Deliver meals and catering services.
• Apply HACCP controls to manage food safety hazards.
• Process meals in the system, handle cash per protocols, and report suspicious behaviour.
• Manage stock, including rotation, labelling, restocking, and stock-taking.
• Ensure bar services comply with Responsible Service of Alcohol Standards.

Requirements

• Current RSA certification
• Understanding of Defence Force operations (desirable)
• You must be an Australian Citizen and have the ability to maintain a Defence clearance in order to be eligible for this position, as well as be able to pass an Australian Federal Police Check.
• Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Ability to work flexibly in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment
• Basic Food Handler Certificate (training provided by employer)
• Knowledge of Food Safety Standards, relevant legislation, and statutory obligations
• Experience in food and beverage service
• Strong customer service commitment
