The Safety Specialist will support the development, implementation, training, periodic updating, and auditing of a comprehensive safety program across all business locations to promote a safety-focused culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and secure a safe work environment for all employees. They will also provide hands-on support for inspections, incident and claims management, investigations, and overall program administration aligned with business goals. Building security and fleet-management responsibilities are included in this role.
The role’s essential functions include leading safety initiatives, conducting audits and inspections, delivering training, maintaining training records, and investigating incidents. Additional duties involve collaborating with stakeholders, mentoring employees, and supporting fleet and facility security, with approximately 15 % travel.
The physical demands described are typical for this role; reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities. Employees regularly sit, use their hands, reach, talk, and hear, frequently stand and walk, occasionally lift up to 20 lb (rarely up to 50 lb), and must navigate various facilities and construction sites while wearing required protective equipment. A reliable means of transport is also required.
The work environment reflects the conditions an employee encounters while performing essential functions, with accommodations available for disabilities. Occasional local and regional travel is required, and the noise level is generally quiet, though it may be louder at external sites.
