The role’s purpose is to establish and lead cross‑functional purchasing teams, creating a collaborative environment that delivers supply‑chain solutions for current and future business programmes. You will manage partnerships and product categories from initial requirements through the life of contracts.
Key results include developing and executing supply‑chain strategies aligned with RR SMR objectives, leading procurement campaigns that meet time, cost and quality targets, building strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, and driving continuous improvement across procurement activities.
Successful candidates will have proven supplier and category management experience in regulated sectors such as nuclear, power generation or aerospace, and the ability to influence external organisations to deliver optimal solutions.
Experience in strategy development, recognising global opportunities and regulatory environments, as well as demonstrated team leadership – managing up to four direct reports and fostering a culture of continuous improvement – is essential.
Strong communication and influencing skills across engineering, commercial, manufacturing and project‑management functions are required, alongside a degree or equivalent experience; MCIPS, APM accreditation or engineering/nuclear qualifications are desirable.
Desirable qualities include excellent planning and project‑management skills, strong commercial acumen and global outlook, proven category management and strategic sourcing experience, and advanced reporting and cost‑modelling capabilities.
Applicants will undergo additional nuclear‑industry security screening, including BPSS clearance, a DBS check and a basic financial probity check.
