Construction Foreman

Description

The foreman role involves leading crews of five to ten workers on various projects throughout California. Responsibilities include interpreting plans, supervising trenching, concrete work, electrical installations, safety meetings, material management, and client communication, while ensuring compliance with OSHA and company policies.

• Lead a crew of 5–10 workers and delegate tasks
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications for equipment layout
• Supervise trenching of utility conduits, operating backhoes, backfilling, and underground scanning
• Oversee pouring and finishing concrete pads for switchgear, chargers, and bollards, including paving and EMT conduit placement
• Manage electrical resources and coordinate safety meetings
• Serve as primary contact with the site superintendent and communicate professionally with clients
• Train and supervise apprentices on the job
• Maintain a safe work environment per OSHA and company guidelines, reporting violations promptly
• Control inventory, organize material lists, gather required materials, and maintain company tools
• Inspect completed work, ensure site cleanliness, and handle administrative tasks such as work logs and client accounts
• Respond to emergency calls and coordinate AHJ inspections and utility follow‑up
• Resolve conflicts proactively while maintaining confidentiality
