Providing engineering, procurement, and construction services to the energy and industrial sectors.
This role enables you to apply transmission line engineering expertise—including conductors, hardware, insulation, structures, foundations, and electrical principles—to design transmission lines ranging from 69 kV to 765 kV. You will perform structural analysis and design for pole, lattice, framed, and guyed structures, as well as foundation designs and conductor selection, shielding, grounding, and induction studies. Additionally, you will develop cost estimates, schedules, and specifications for procurement, specify transmission line components, and model lines in PLS‑CADD to determine right‑of‑way requirements, calculate conductor sags, and create plan and profile drawings. The position also involves reviewing vendor submittals. A hybrid work arrangement is offered, requiring three days onsite and two days remote, and a generous relocation package is available depending on location.
Candidates must hold a degree from an ABET‑accredited engineering program and have related engineering, internship, or co‑op experience. Proficiency with PLS‑CADD and PLS‑POLE is required, along with at least one year of transmission line engineering experience or a master’s degree. Applicants should possess solid knowledge of transmission line engineering principles, design techniques, and the production of technical plans, drawings, and models, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong written and verbal communication skills. This position does not sponsor work authorization in the United States.
Preferred qualifications include successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam and designation as an Engineer in Training, as well as experience with software such as PLS‑TOWER, SAG10, LPILE, MFAD, ArcGIS, CDEGS, AutoCAD, or MicroStation. Experience writing and supporting engineering calculation documentation and familiarity with design codes and standards such as NESC, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318 are valued.
