The Assistant Vice President plays a pivotal leadership role in aligning financial management with the company’s operational and strategic goals across its building maintenance and facility service divisions. This position serves as the vital link between accounting and field operations—ensuring financial accuracy, meaningful analysis, and efficient business processes that drive sustainable growth and profitability.

The ideal candidate will combine strategic financial leadership with a hands-on operational mindset, providing the insight, structure, and guidance necessary to manage costs, evaluate performance, and support informed, company-wide decision-making.

  • Support the Vice President in evaluating new business opportunities, contract pricing, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Lead the company’s budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with operations and executive leadership.
  • Support operational management in reviewing contract profitability, labor utilization, and expense controls.
  • Conduct detailed cost analyses of service lines, materials, and vendor contracts to identify potential savings.
  • Act as the financial liaison between accounting and operations, turning financial data into practical guidance for divisional leaders.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance profitability and ensure consistency across service locations.
  • Translate financial results into actionable insights that connect accounting outcomes with field operations.
  • Partner with department leaders to ensure compensation structures align with company goals and profitability targets.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports, cost analyses, and variance explanations to identify performance trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Oversee and prepare accurate, timely commission and incentive calculations for sales and operations teams.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs for labor, materials, and overhead to drive operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Operations and HR on staffing cost analyses, productivity metrics, and resource planning initiatives.
  • Partner with the Controller and IT to streamline financial workflows, reporting processes, and data accuracy.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP/accounting systems; experience with job-costing systems a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
  • Proven ability to provide both strategic direction and operational execution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or operations leadership within a service-oriented or facilities management environment.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities across all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated success in managing budgets, improving processes, and driving operational performance.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
