Accounting Manager

Description

• Ensure accurate tracking, calculation, and management of all management fee collections.
• To ensure the accuracy and timely delivery of property financial packages.
• Constantly research and implement technology to streamline the process of receiving invoices, matching purchase orders and issuing payments.
• Ensure all tax and Real Estate licensing activities are completed (1099’s, Trust Account Reconciliations, etc.)
• Track and billback Corporate Reimbursables from the properties.
• Assist Accountants in complex or non-regular accounting needs from ownership or operations or use resources to find answers.
• Assist Director of Corporate Operations/Consultant in daily banking activities.
• To promote cooperation and camaraderie with other departments.
• Directly oversee and mentor Accountants and Accounts Payable Personnel.
• Coordinate with Administrative and Operations Departments as necessary to improve process and procedure.
• Ensure Replacement Reserve Funding Requests processes are structured and set-up on all applicable properties.
• To be a strategic team leader of corporate operations, ensure performance.
• To implement and maintain accounting controls.
• Prevent any monetary losses due to theft, late fees, etc.
• Stay Aware of properties with cash deficiencies and bring to Manager/President’s attention.
• Lead the interview and hiring/termination process of accounting personnel.
• Ensure that each Property has the financial requirements and package production needs documented and maintained.
• Standardize and maintain a system of accounting records and techniques.
• Complete Property Financials as needed during transition, understaffing, or for assistance to hit deadlines.
• Distribute property accounting responsibilities appropriately throughout department.
• Track the production process of Property Financials and ensure delivery to clients by date specified in management agreement.

Microsoft Excel, experience utilizing external software

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.

Real Estate Accounting Experience a Plus (Yardi, Entrata, OneSite)

A Valid, Unexpired Driver's License

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education & experience

5 Years Accounting Experience

3 Years Experience in a Supervisory Role

• Ability to develop/maintain accounting systems and processes.
• Ability to talk directly to clients on complex accounting issues.
• Ability to explain accounting issues to non-accounting personnel.
• Ability to implement departmental changes.
• Possess strong knowledge of GAAP and its applications.
• Demonstrates integrity-driven leadership through collaboration, accountability, adaptability, and clear communication; fosters teamwork and service-oriented relationships while promoting efficiency, innovation, attention to detail, and a solution-focused culture.
• Ability to effectively manage and lead a team while fostering a positive, collaborative, and cohesive work environment.
• Ability to coach, mentor, and train accounting staff.
• Comfortable with technology and ability to implement new tools
