The Transmission Lineman A role supports the Journeyman Lineman and Foreman by performing construction, maintenance, and repair tasks for transmission structures and equipment. The position provides hands‑on learning while collaborating with the Lineman team and other department personnel. Flexible scheduling may require extensive travel and work across Texas and Florida.
- Replace transmission structures, pull wire, and build new lines.
- Perform construction, maintenance, or repair of transmission lines.
- Install and maintain wood poles and steel towers, including hardware setup.
- Operate and maintain vehicles and specialized electric‑utility equipment.
- Identify primary and secondary circuit voltage and understand induced voltage.
- Climb and work on various structures such as wood poles, steel towers, and other tall installations.
- Work 50+ hours per week with up to 100% travel, including assignments in Texas and Florida.
- Perform frequent bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, lifting (up to 50 lb), and twisting in varied weather conditions.

- Apply knowledge of grounding, dead ending, and proper wire sagging.
- Hold a valid state driver’s license; a Class A CDL is preferred.
- Ability to work seven days per week as required.
- Possess a valid Class A CDL (preferred).
- Completed leadership training (preferred).
- Graduated from a lineman school (preferred).
- Finished an apprenticeship program (preferred).
- Maintain clear vision, precise hand‑eye coordination, and color‑distinguishing ability.
