

Nationwide engineering firm specializing in relay testing, commissioning, and equipment testing
The role requires traveling to customer sites to inspect, test, troubleshoot, and collect data on low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems. You will assist the project lead with functional testing of substation control circuits, relay panels, transformers, and circuit breaker controls, including isolation, setpoint, advanced logic, and scheme testing such as reclosing and breaker failure.
Additional duties include performing end‑to‑end relay testing using Doble Protection Suite, RTS, or Test Universe software, supporting installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of protective relaying equipment, DFR devices, SCADA and distribution automation systems, and developing standard commissioning, testing, and maintenance procedures. You will also generate detailed customer reports describing identified problems and corrective actions while maintaining a professional attitude with vendors, customers, and service providers.
Qualifications include an associate degree in Electrical Power & Controls, an EE degree, relevant military experience, or Journeyman electrician status, strong interpersonal and communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and a valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Candidates must be able to distinguish wiring and fiber optic color codes, adhere to all electrical safety procedures, and pass pre‑employment drug and background checks.
Other requirements are the ability to crawl, climb, stand, and lift up to 75 lb., availability for regular overnight domestic travel, and willingness to work flexible hours, overtime, and occasional weekends, holidays, or nights.
