What you would be doing

  • Work closely with the Finance Business Partners and Business Unit leaders in managing the month-end revenue recognition process along with production of related monthly performance reports to Senior Management
  • Review and approve all project invoices in conjunction with the Project Leaders where required
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and reconciliations as required
  • Revenue recognition as per POC method and ensuring the correct cost to complete of projects
  • Provide support for the financial build-up of resource and lump sum pricing items for prospects where required
  • Provide Internal Audit and External Audit support.
  • Prepare and contribute to delivering P&L Business Unit annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
  • Work towards compliance with NI 52-109 for all Project Finance controls
  • Conducting various analysis on projects to identify risk and opportunities on the projects.
  • Assist Project Leaders in completing and managing their EAC/ Cost to complete forecasts so that everyone has a full picture of the future performance of their projects and the Business Units can accurately assess resource requirements
  • Carrying out project wise, Business Unit wise cost & margin analysis and providing reasons for the erosion/ gain of margins
  • Help ensure working capital reports reflect the latest information available and that all actions are complete on a monthly basis by the relevant Project Leader
  • Problem solver – identify weak links and work to rectify/improve
  • Support projects based in the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and potentially other locations across the GCC and occasional travel wmay be required
  • Attend project review meetings, including the preparation of the financial data and take away any relevant Project Finance actions
  • Promote best practice in project and bid management by assisting Project Leaders in line with what is defined by QMS and Project Life Cycle
  • Support the Finance Business Partners as well as the Business Unit leaders and Project Leaders
  • Help ensure Project Leaders are accurately reflecting progress made in month and forecasting revenue in line with the latest and best information available at the time of completion

  • Previous exposure to Oracle or similar project reporting systems is preferred
  • CA/ MBA-Finance/others with 5-7 years of experience in a Commercial/Project finance environment
  • Construction and consultancy experience is preferred
  • Excellent communicator – know your audience
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office – particularly intermediate to advanced level in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • ERP (Oracle) implementation under Project Finance especially w.r.t revenue recognition based on Percentage of completion (PoC) and time charge method
  • Work ethics – works to high standards and is a completer finisher
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Management, or Finance
  • Strong analytical skills- analytical approach to raise right questions and find solutions
  • Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification (“BGV”) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India.
