The Project Coordinator will coordinate projects and multiple laboratory operational activities, acting as the primary contact between operations and both internal and external clients. Responsibilities include preparing test samples, readying equipment, conducting tests under supervision, analyzing results, developing test methods, and recording, reviewing, and reporting data.
- Coordinate execution of SGS testing and services with local labs and global affiliates, including sample processing.
- Review job tickets and monitor job closure and invoicing.
- Maintain tracking spreadsheets and manage email correspondence.
- Lead project coordination and data collection activities.
- Provide departmental support and training to staff as needed.
- Collaborate with Sales, Technical, and Operations teams.
- Communicate with clients regarding timeline performance and analysis issues.
- Assist with calibration scheduling and ISO 17025 compliance activities.
- Prepare specimens for testing following standardized procedures.
- Conduct tests and analyze samples to determine performance properties.
- Operate laboratory equipment and test apparatus with proper training.
- Support maintenance and troubleshooting of testing equipment.
- Execute new test methods and standards as they are added.
- Set up laboratory equipment per TAPPI, NWSP, AATCC, ASTM, FTC, CFR, ISO, and other applicable procedures.
- Manage inventory of chemicals and equipment and compile supply orders.
- Perform periodic analysis of standards for method validation and proficiency tracking.
- Provide administrative and special laboratory performance support.
- Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.

Physical demands of the role include frequent movement and standing, constant sitting and hand use, occasional climbing, balancing, reaching, and lifting up to 30 lb, as well as continuous talking and hearing.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field or equivalent experience.
- 2–3 years of experience in physical testing and test method development.
- Advanced written and spoken English; intermediate mathematical and reasoning skills.
- Ability to work independently, follow directions, and produce accurate results within timeframes.
- Proficiency in reading technical documents and writing professional scientific reports.
- Strong communication skills with customers and colleagues.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Excel, and Word.
