Join us in a permanent opportunity within our Finance Team as our Business Partners and Performance Manager. You’ll inspire and guide a team of finance professionals while providing analytical and commercial insight that drives informed decision-making, embeds accountability, and lifts financial capability across the business.
In this role you will act as a trusted financial advisor to senior leaders, delivering accurate analysis that shapes strategy and performance. You will lead end‑to‑end monthly reporting, produce management, executive and Board reports, and own the planning cycle for budgets, forecasts and long‑term outlooks, challenging assumptions and unapproved funding requests. You will deliver deep performance and cost analysis, support investment and pricing decisions through modelling, and build collaborative relationships with Treasury and corporate finance. You will ensure financial governance, compliance and drive continuous improvement through technology and innovation.
The ideal candidate has strong finance business‑partnering experience in large organisations, with proven ability to drive commercial outcomes through practical insights. They possess sharp business acumen, analytical skills, and familiarity with modern financial systems and reporting standards. A naturally curious, detail‑focused mindset, sound judgement, influencing skills and the confidence to challenge constructively are essential. Excellent communication skills enable translation of financial data into meaningful messages for diverse audiences.
A relevant degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field is required, together with a professional accounting qualification such as CA, CPA or CIMA.
By joining Western Power you will help power a cleaner energy future while enjoying a range of flexible work arrangements, additional leave purchase, salary packaging, social club activities, discounted health insurance and gym membership, and an award‑winning recognition programme. The company promotes a healthy work‑life balance, wellness leave, 22 weeks paid parental leave and 5 days of First Nations cultural leave. An innovative team culture supports the transition to renewable energy and decarbonisation.
