The IT Assistant will be the first line of support for employees across our business units, handling user issues, hardware and software management, and coordination with a third‑party IT provider. This in‑person role bridges internal teams and the managed provider to keep construction‑specific technology operating efficiently in a fast‑growing steel and construction environment.
- Provide first‑line support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems with construction‑specific programs (e.g., Tekla Powerfab, Sage 100 Contractor, Vista Viewpoint, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Trimble Connect).
- Assist with account setup, password resets, permissions, and license management.
- Train end users on new systems, updates, and company technology standards.
- Log, track, and prioritize IT support requests to ensure timely resolution.
- Set up, configure, and maintain computers, printers, and mobile devices.
- Manage software updates, drivers, and patches for both office and field equipment.
- Support network connections and ensure reliable VPN access for remote and field users.
- Partner with the 3rd‑party IT provider on escalated network, security, and infrastructure issues.
- Install, update, and manage licenses for key construction software.
- Coordinate with vendors and the 3rd‑party IT provider for upgrades, integrations, and troubleshooting.
- Assist project teams with data sharing, version control, and file management.
- Help enforce company data protection and cybersecurity best practices.
- Maintain IT documentation, user guides, and FAQs.
- Conduct new‑hire IT orientation and software onboarding.
- Provide refresher training on software tools and updates.
- Maintain IT asset inventory and oversee equipment lifecycle.
- Assist with procurement and setup of new devices and software.
- Support field teams accessing digital drawings, models, and schedules.

- 0–3 years of hands‑on IT support or helpdesk experience.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking fundamentals.
- Familiarity with construction software (Tekla, Sage, Bluebeam, etc.) – training provided.
- Ability to research issues, use tools, and solve problems independently.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience coordinating with a managed IT provider is a plus.
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment as needed.

The position works Monday‑Thursday 7 am‑5 pm and Friday 7 am‑11 am, with hours varying based on project needs. Compensation is $19‑23 hourly, plus full benefits, a first‑time homebuyer bonus, 401(k) match, profit‑sharing, and various employee‑recognition programs.
