Shift Engineer

Description

The role involves managing and maintaining electromechanical and utilities services on‑site, supported by a technician team. You will develop and implement planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules, conduct regular inspections to identify risk or defect areas, and review the work of subordinate staff, providing guidance when needed. Additionally, you will ensure proper documentation and tracking of assets under defect liability periods and AMC/CAMC.

You will be responsible for hiring, training, and developing shift engineers, supervisors, and maintenance staff, as well as formulating budgeting controls. Monitoring SLA’s and KPI’s for JLL and outsourced agencies ensures effective service delivery. Cooperation and communication with other departments are essential to deliver a good customer experience and act on feedback.

The position also includes overseeing vendor management, including quotations, invoices, agreement renewals, and timely payment follow‑ups, as well as scheduling monthly vendor meetings to enforce corrective actions. Energy conservation initiatives, monthly reading sheets, and maintaining equipment history cards and logbooks are part of the responsibilities. You will handle major complaints, ensure work permits and safe practices, and assist property and technical managers with risk assessments and root‑cause analysis.

Safety is paramount; you will create corrective, preventive, and emergency response plans, participate in evacuation drills, and be part of the ERT/QRT team. Maintaining engineering reports such as DMR and MMR and collaborating with regional, head‑office, and training teams ensures report closure.
