Structural Graduate Engineer

Description

The role involves designing building systems, structural elements, and connections under supervision, performing engineering calculations and analyses. You will design structures using steel, concrete, wood, and masonry, analyze existing structures for new uses, coordinate with architectural, mechanical, and civil disciplines, provide construction administration assistance, conduct site visits and inspections, review shop drawings, and prepare detailed design calculations and construction drawings.

• Design building systems, structural elements, and connections under professional supervision.
• Perform engineering calculations and analyses for steel, concrete, wood, and masonry structures.
• Analyze existing structures for new uses and design repairs or reinforcements.
• Coordinate design efforts with architectural, mechanical, and civil disciplines.
• Provide construction administration support, including site visits, inspections, and shop‑drawing reviews.
• Prepare detailed design calculations and construction drawings.

Requirements

Candidates need strong theoretical knowledge of structural engineering principles and the ability to apply them to various elements. Proficiency with MS Office is required. Preferred qualifications include EIT/FE certification (or ability to obtain within one year), a bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering from an ABET‑accredited program, and a master’s degree in structural engineering.

• Hold EIT/FE certification or obtain it within one year (preferred).
• Possess a bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering from an ABET‑accredited college; master’s degree preferred.
