Participate in the coordination between estimating and site to ensure that the project controls system is properly implemented.
Ensure that the project site staff and crew understand the cost code structure of the project and that they are charging their expended hours to the correct codes.
Review the project contract and ensure that all the contract conditions (invoicing, reporting and all related issues) are applied and fulfilled when setting up the project within Aecon’s project controls system.
Review and analyze the project scheduling and cost reports and suggest corrective actions to maintain the project within planned cost and schedule.
Participate in developing, establishing, and maintaining the company’s project cost control systems.
Train the project team on how to implement and maintain the prescribed change management procedures.
Assist the project team in setting up the project WBS, project cost codes, and the project baseline Budget.
Ensure you and your family receive the services needed to support your mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
Assist the project manager in preparing project monthly reports and forecasting.
Monitor the project performance and ensure that the project controls system is properly implemented.
Design, develop and establish key reporting standards.
Provide Aecon management team with all the required project controls summary reports and analyses.
Prepare and update project cash flows as required throughout the project life cycle.
Assist the project scheduler and the project team in preparing, reviewing, and maintaining the project schedule.
Review and analyze the project controls reports (i.e. progress and productivity) with the Project Controls Lead and the project team and suggest corrective actions to maintain expected performance and productivity.
Participate in setting up and controlling the project structure (WBS) and related cost structure (CBS).
Supervise and mentor developing Project Controls Analysts.
Monitor the change management system on site by making sure that the project staff understands the system and how the changes should be managed and tracked on site and within Aecon’s systems.

Experience developing dashboards, KPIS and analytics in support of business operational excellence.
Experience in data analytics tools including but not limited to advanced MS Excel, Power Query, SAP, and Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate).
Experience in automating data flow and setting up data pipelines would be an asset.
Excellent interpersonal and team skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Between two and three (2 to 3) years of related experience.
Detail oriented and customer focused.
Hydro and Utilities experience considered an asset.
Good knowledge of cost engineering/cost control.
Effective analytical and problem-solving skill.
Post-secondary education - Bachelor of Science (Engineering discipline) or C.E.T.; Bachelor of Commerce.
Valid driver’s license and open to travel.
Knowledge/ experience in using SQL & Python would be an asset.
Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines.
Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees.
Willingness for continuous learning and advancement of technical knowledge.
Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks within a high-pressure work site environment.
Ability to read schedules and scheduling curves/reports.
Good knowledge of the “Earned Value” principles.
