

Provides civil engineering and land surveying services for municipal, residential and commercial projects.
The Instrument Operator assists with various field surveys such as topographic, boundary, location/design, construction staking, and as-built surveys, operates total stations, robotic total stations, GPS receivers, and Trimble or Carlson data collectors, collects accurate field data, ensures proper documentation, and supports the crew chief with project setup, data transfer, and equipment management.
R. Joe Harris & Associates, Inc. is seeking a dependable and motivated Instrument Operator to join its surveying team. The role supports field operations, collaborating with survey crew chiefs, office staff, and clients to deliver accurate, high-quality results.
The ideal candidate has a basic understanding of land surveying principles, familiarity with GPS receivers and total stations (robotic preferred), experience with Trimble or Carlson data collectors is a plus, strong math skills, can work outdoors in varying weather, is dependable, self-motivated, and effective in a team environment.
