

Ensure project change for design packages is fully implemented and recorded
Identify efficient design solutions from scopes and site visits and communicate these clearly
Attend and present designs at ALM, KM and similar meetings
Estimate hours required for design packages and support programme planning
Ensure the design team produce deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements
Direct and develop engineers, CAD technicians and graduates
Act as Professional Head for the discipline or CRE/Responsible Engineer where required
Approve DRAs, design deliverables, reports and specifications
Review, interpret and brief standards, procedures and updates
To take responsibility for design solutions, technical standards and deliverables across civil engineering design packages. You will oversee the work of engineers and CAD technicians, approve key design outputs, and ensure deliverables meet safety, quality, integration and programme expectations.
Guide design in compliance with relevant technical, professional and water company standards
Provide technical guidance for projects and tenders and support continuous improvement
Oversee work undertaken within formal processes and procedures
Experience across clean water, wastewater, infra and non-infra designs
Experience in outline and detailed design
Awareness of construction methods and materials
Graduate or HND in a relevant discipline
5 - 20 years’ relevant civil design experience in the regulated water industry at senior or principal level
Knowledge of engineering drawing practices
Experience delivering hydraulic calculations and hydraulic profiles
Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
Salary: £65,000–£80,000 plus outstanding benefits and contract rates £400 limited
