A Sr. Project Manager supports and leads the Project Manager, Superintendent and entire project team throughout the construction process by facilitating actions that will complete projects successfully including clear communication of goals and expectations, oversight of the project budget, project schedule, and construction plans, and maintaining positive vendor and client relationships.
Handle hard bid pursuits and produce a conceptual budget without assistance
Model effective time management and work/life balance
Build lasting relationships with customers, subcontractors, partners & teammates
Developing followership & trust with teammates, support direct reports
Procore certified and extremely proficient with the software
Proficiency in Viewpoint setting up and maintaining budgets, change order process
Experience with Institutional projects
Willingness to train/mentor teammates
Understand subcontract language & completing buy-out in a timely manner
Great in front of people and in project interviews

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of customers, co-workers and subcontractors in a fast-paced work environment. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, blueprint/plan or schedule form in a timely manner. Ability to manage projects against the established schedule and budget and appropriately respond when actuals don’t match projections.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Procore
Education and/or Experience: 4 year college degree in a construction related field and/or 8-10+ years of experience in commercial construction management.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, visually observe and move around the construction site. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk or sit. Must be able to move about freely in an office and construction environment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision to work on a computer and to read plans and documents. Distance vision is required to operate vehicles and observe workers at a construction site.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret building plans, schedules and product specification sheets, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs, charts, and data tables. Ability to help compile project pricing and track project budgets.
Understands that managing several projects at the same time is normal.
Experience working as a Construction Manager at-risk
Ability to build and grow teammates and client relationships
Negotiation and understanding of owner contract language
Final close out of project within 90 days
Spend time looking 2-3 years ahead and thinking strategically
