Construction Foreman (DUKE)

Description

Key duties include enforcing company safety policies, efficiently scheduling crews, maintaining accurate written and electronic records, and communicating project issues and procedures to customers. The Foreman leads, trains, and coaches team members on proper pruning techniques, operates vehicles and equipment safely, and conducts visual safety checks.

• Coordinate and inspect the work of crew members for quality and compliance.
• Complete required company reporting procedures and paperwork.
• Provide on‑the‑job training for less experienced climbers and bucket operators.
• Accept accountability for crew availability and performance.
• Inspect personal protective equipment (PPE) for proper condition.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order.
• Communicate work directives clearly to crew and ensure customer understanding.
• Follow all Company Safety Rules, Policies, and Procedures.
• Apply thorough knowledge of proper pruning techniques.
• Operate crew equipment efficiently and safely.
• Travel long distances on short notice and work extended periods in various locations.
• Lift and carry loads exceeding 50 lb and work overtime as required.
• Use company radio and maintain hand tools properly.
• Work outdoors in inclement weather and handle exposure to fumes, noise, and vibration.
• Uphold ethical, honest, and punctual conduct in all duties.

Requirements

The Foreman is a hands‑on leadership role requiring superior experience and proven success in supervising crew operations for vegetation management and electrical line clearance. This position oversees daily activities, ensures safety standards are met, and maintains strong customer and public relations.

Candidates must have 1‑2 years of recent relevant experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and be able to read and communicate effectively in English (bilingual Spanish is a plus). A valid driver’s license is required, with a Commercial Driver’s License strongly preferred, and the ability to lift over 50 lb, travel on short notice, and work overtime when needed.

The role demands regular standing, walking, climbing, and the use of hands, with exposure to fumes, noise, vibration, and extreme weather conditions typical of construction sites. Employees must be capable of working at heights, in confined spaces, and in inclement weather while adhering to strict safety protocols.
