Asakura Robinson is seeking a senior landscape architect to join our team with a focus on community-based and public-facing projects. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, mission-driven landscape architect who demonstrates strong design acumen, solid technical skills, and a deep interest in working with historically underserved communities and environmental and social ecosystems.

Be able to walk and move around at job sites

*Texas driver's license is required.

Be fluent in written and spoken English

Ability to travel: local project-related travel as required, including project-related site visits*

Be able to kneel, crouch, or stoop to position oneself to see different areas of project sites

  • Excellent in critical thinking and organizational skills
  • Creative, collaborative leader, and able to contribute to our improvisational and transdisciplinary teamwork environment
  • Bilingual abilities
  • Experience in Client Management
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture or related field
  • Strongly self-motivated, energetic, responsible, reliable, flexible, and resourceful
  • Experience in well-written and regarded reports, white paper presentations, and other publications
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required
  • Working knowledge of sustainable communities and green infrastructure practice
  • Experience in community engagement, participatory design, or public realm projects is a strong plus
  • Demonstrating entrepreneurial understanding of managing the consulting-based design business
  • Working knowledge of landscape design and construction; technically proficient with experience in construction documentation and detailing
  • Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM), Bluebeam, and GIS mapping
  • Understanding of challenges facing the profession and seeking new ideas to bring opportunities
  • Experience in successful business development, public presentations, and Interviews
  • 10+ years of professional experience in landscape architecture
  • Excellent in people skills, empathetic, with a high degree of emotional intelligence and reciprocity thinking as a leader
  • Strong graphic communication and conceptual design skills
  • Experience in Project and Design Studio management
  • Passionate about design and dedicated as a professional designer, experienced in leading a design team in mission and goal-driven projects to successful outcomes
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and rendering software (SketchUp, Rhino, Lumion, etc.)
