The Field Quality Compliance Specialist is essential to maintaining the integrity and craftsmanship of RK’s steel erection and field construction projects. The role implements quality standards, conducts inspections, and provides training and process improvements so that all work complies with industry codes and internal expectations.
The Field Quality Systems Supervisor oversees the execution and maintenance of the organization’s Quality Management System at construction and erection sites, ensuring adherence to codes, standards, and client specifications through field procedures, audits, and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Develop and standardize field quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection protocols aligned with the corporate QMS.
- Deliver technical training to field personnel on inspection techniques, documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Conduct systematic field audits and inspections to verify adherence to project specifications, industry standards (AWS, IBC, ICC, ASNT), and internal procedures.
- Coordinate inspection activities with project managers, engineers, field supervisors, and third‑party inspectors.
- Identify non‑conformances, initiate corrective/preventive actions, and validate the effectiveness of solutions.
- Lead pre‑task planning and quality‑assurance briefings to reinforce expectations and mitigate risks.
- Track and report key performance indicators such as defect rates, rework trends, and audit findings.
- Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits with accurate documentation and traceability of quality records.

Working closely with project teams, the specialist helps develop and sustain quality systems that drive consistency and compliance in the field. This position offers a strong QA/QC professional the chance to impact high‑profile projects across RK’s expanding portfolio.
The role requires work in outdoor and hazardous environments, including high places, confined spaces, and all weather conditions, and demands occasional lifting of up to 75 lb and frequent handling of lighter loads.
- Minimum 10 years experience in construction quality control, steel erection, or a related field.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with at least 5 years hands‑on weld inspection experience.
- At least 3 years developing and implementing QMS procedures in field environments.
- Preferred ICC Certified Bolting Inspector and ASNT Level II (MT & UT) certifications.
- Strong knowledge of AWS, IBC, ICC, and ASNT standards and inspection methodologies.
- Proficient in interpreting structural drawings, erection plans, and technical specifications.
- Skilled in audit execution, non‑conformance reporting, and quality data analysis.
- Ability to work independently, make decisions, and travel to out‑of‑state projects as needed.
- Strong safety culture emphasizing health, safety, and environmental responsibility.
