The carpenter constructs, erects, installs, and repairs wood, plywood, wallboard, and other material structures and fixtures, using hand and power tools while complying with local building codes and OSHA regulations.
The role reports directly to the carpenter foreman or superintendent and is held accountable for the quality and timeliness of work.
Employees must provide their own hand tools, be punctual each day, and maintain regular attendance.
- Study and interpret blueprints to determine required materials and dimensions.
- Layout, cut, shape, and assemble materials using rules, framing squares, and levels.
- Verify structural accuracy with standard carpenter’s tools and make necessary adjustments.
- Install completed structures in place, ensuring compliance with building codes.
- Supply personal hand tools and maintain them in good condition.
- Follow foreman or superintendent directions and re‑check work for accuracy.

The position demands a minimum 10th grade education (high school diploma and apprenticeship preferred), at least four years of carpentry experience, knowledge of blueprints, precise tool use, and the ability to lift up to 50 lb, climb ladders, and interpret mathematical data from plans.

- Meet physical demands including climbing, lifting up to 50 lb, and working at heights.
- Demonstrate advanced carpentry skills and consistent punctuality.
Benefits
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, with schedules that may vary due to weather, and overtime is compensated at time and a half for hours beyond 40 per week.
