Head of Health Safety & Assurance

• Drive the development of risk-based assurance strategies, safety-in-design processes, and critical risk controls.
• Represent Gamuda with clients, regulators, and industry bodies to strengthen stakeholder confidence in our safety performance.
• Establish and oversee systems for monitoring, auditing, and reporting on health and safety performance, ensuring statutory and contractual compliance.
• Provide strategic leadership of Gamuda’s H&S Management System across Australia, aligned with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and Federal Safety Commission standards.
• Support client engagement during tender processes, representing Gamuda’s safety culture and demonstrating value in pre-award negotiations and presentations.
• Provide mentorship, direction, and capability-building for H&S managers, advisors, and project staff.
• Partner with tender and delivery teams to embed H&S leadership and safety assurance throughout project lifecycles.
• Provide specialist H&S input during tender and bid phases, ensuring proposals demonstrate robust safety assurance, risk management, and compliance with ISO standards.

We are now seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Health, Safety & Assurance to further develop and shape the future of our safety culture.

• At least 15 years’ senior experience in H&S leadership within the Australian construction industry, ideally with Tier 1 contractors.
• Strong knowledge of ISO standards and WHS legislation across NSW, QLD, and VIC.
• Proven ability to influence, coach, and build capability at all levels of an organisation.
• Demonstrated expertise in Safety Assurance frameworks and application on major infrastructure projects.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to represent Gamuda externally.
• Degree qualifications in Health & Safety, Construction, or a related discipline.
